Many individuals still have not received their economic impact payments, or stimulus payments. We recommend that all individuals check the status of their payment using the IRS’ Where’s My Payment tool.
The guide below, adapted from the CFPB, will help you determine the best course of action if you have not received your payment yet. Regardless of your status, we recommend all individuals update their information with the IRS by filing a 2018 or 2019 tax return, or by using the IRS’ non-filers tool. Individuals can make an appointment to complete this process at labcservices.org, or can complete the process on their own using IRS Free File or the IRS non-filers tool.
Payment Status Not Available
Needs More Information
A payment has been processed
Pending and not processed – A payment date is not available
This status indicates that a person is eligible, and a payment has not yet been sent. If it has been more than two weeks since the person filed or completed the Non-Filers Tool, there may be a problem. If they mailed a paper return to the IRS, it could take longer, but the pending status should last no longer than two weeks.
